quite often there are special tickets available to people travelling on eurostar which, in effect, mean free tube transfer but you would need to take a eurostar ticket to the station as the deal is only availble with proof of eurostar travel

you would not be issued the ticket as we were all briefed this is NOT to be done whichever ID you bring with you. Very frustrating but company policy must be adhered to unless you want the chop

If the original ticket was purchased at a train station you are well within your rights to take it back before the start date of the outward journey and receive a full refund by the same method of payment. Just tell them the discount was not applied in error but now you would like a new ticket...
