I guess the balance for the rail companies is enforcing the law as far as fare evasion is concerned and providing a convenient and usable service. If they wanted to enforce this 100% then sureley they would have put a method in place by now which actually prevented you boarding without a ticket...

Hi all, I got the 16:42 from New Pudsey which if it gets into Leeds on time gives me generally between 5 to 10 minutes before getting the 17:05 to Nottingham which gets me into Normanton at about 17:15. If I miss that then it means waiting in Leeds and getting a longer duration train...
