I've booked an Intercity tour today for £109 and I am fully expecting it to be the Chairmans Train.........:D

I am pretty sure the only use for 180s is by Grand Central to free up the 2 voyagers they have for Cross Country

Interesting that you bring Northern up actually. Isn't there a push up there to have trains under the "Bee" branding with that 323 in yellow? How will things like that now work? Are we going to see local mayors fighting with the Government over who controls trains in their areas?

Starts off sounding like an IET (because everything has to sound like that now) and then drifts towards that European loco that sounds like it is making music but only for a couple of notes before it stops and doesn't really make any noise after that

And why not. An abysmal livery for an abysmal train sounds perfect to me :D

To be honest, I am happy with all of the traction involved and it's great to see that there are sensible people about who will still do tours involving their favoured traction even when there are other classes involved as well. I will never get my head around the old school thinking of refusing...

There's lots of things you could take from that but it would all be heresay, opinion and guesswork so it is just going to be a "wait and see" thing regarding their future then!

As it was out again yesterday, I presume they mean they class 121 "bubble car" rather than the Deltic. From what I have seen of the unit, it has been made up to a very high standard internally with couches rather than seats and what look like very expensive finishing touches. So I very much...
