I have got off early before on an advance ticket. I got off at Watford High St when I was supposed to go to Watford Junction. Barrier guy couldn't give less of a s*** :lol:

On a Sunday/bank holiday as well. I can't imagine that someone would be so soulless to prevent you from leaving and I reckon the barriers (if any) will be open anyway.

Ok, the topic title sounds confusing. Basically I want to travel from London to Wiltshire (my local town has no train station). Two nearby railway stations are Pewsey and Westbury. To travel to Pewsey, changing at Westbury, costs £14.50. However, a ticket direct to Westbury on THE SAME TRAIN...

Ok thanks for that. I just remember reading somewhere that all Sunday duties were voluntary. I'm sure it will work out anyway. I'll just worry about it if I actually get offered a post!

Cheers for that! So that's about three months until you go onto shifts then? Do you have to work Sundays after? Because I can swap my training days to Sundays if I'm not obliged to work then.

Thanks. Well I applied for Waterloo originally, but when I was told vacancies had been filled I explained my situation and asked to be considered for all depots. They didn't tell me which one it is for over the phone but I suspect it is Waterloo. I will find out when the letter comes I guess...

That's what I like about rail recruitment. You can make up stuff on the app form or even have someone else write it for you, but you can't blag your way through the tests! I've been for other jobs where I am in no doubt other applicants have told bare-faced lies and squeezed their way in...

I'm all too familiar with that sentiment. Makes me wonder why others even bother...
