This seems like a shame to me. The WMR font is (I believe) the same as is used at bus stops, bus stations and tram stops across the whole West Midlands. To throw away the only recently established intermodal consistency of signage for TfWM is an interesting choice. I think in the city regions...
This from Network Rail is really informative https://twitter.com/networkrailwest/status/1684215899295809538?s=46&t=0eD2f57GNzZU6XDIdukAug
But you’re right that nowhere near this level of detail or acknowledgement is being conveyed to the average Liz passenger.
Yeah we’re still on the emergency timetable coming up to the evening peak, which itself is still being subject to delays. GWR comms good as far as I can tell but information from TfL pretty poor. Drivers giving limited information (and no apologies!), and barely any information on TfL channels...
Passenger info still pretty poor on the Lizzie this morning! Some West services cancelled and everything running to Paddington mainline, but West Drayton had a “quote of the day” on the whiteboard rather than disruption info…
PIS on my train is also still announcing Abbey Wood, and the TfL...
Yep! Noticed this too, very messy indeed.
Surely the map should either show *all* Lizzie stations and cross out those not being served, or simply only show the station shops of a particular train.
Also “Network Rail” should obviously read “National Rail” and I cannot believe that this hasn’t...
Just on the 1140 EUS BHM, already delayed and told at COV that no Avanti trains allowed into BHM as delayed and cancelled EUS-bound services occupying too many platforms. Advised us all to detrain for the LNWR stopper, and then we all watched on in horror as the original Avanti train departed...
Elizabeth line now showing up on Apple Maps! In my view, Apple Maps shows transit lines in a much clearer and more elegant way than the Google alternative, and it’s a great chance to get a good feel of the geography of the new line.
That entrance leads down to both platforms. My best guess is that the “Abbey Wood/Shenfield” sticker will be gone once through-running begins, or added to include Heathrow and Reading. It likely says Shenfield now because it is still a destination on the Elizabeth Line which can be reached from...
Update to the PIS today I *think*. Trains are now proudly announcing that they are “The train to [destination]” rather than a “TfL Rail service to [destination]”. The ‘service status’ screens now list the “Elizabeth line” rather than “TfL Rail”.
I guess GWR/TfL Rail still have an obligation to inform passengers, even if they’re not to blame. But point taken, I shall lay my frustrations at the door of Network Rail! I guess this is another example of the longstanding need to have one body which is responsible for the railway and...
That’s really i
Thanks for your explanation, it’s really interesting and it’s amazing how some detail makes the whole thing feel a (little) less frustrating. I guess that’s all I’m asking of GWR/TfL Rail. Acknowledge that it’s a recurring problem, that they know it’s inconvenient, and what...
Lack of signalling staff on evenings at Paddington feels like a recurring nightmare now! Does anyone know exactly how this affects services? I’m currently on a TfL Rail train to Maidenhead and we’ve been stopped at Southall for 25 minutes owing to signalling problems - train left late too...
In other signage news, the roundels at West Drayton are now showing “Elizabeth Line” (new this week!)
This seems interesting because the roundels themselves have been there for some while, there was some kind of sign lay on top attached with zip ties so they read “TfL Rail” until this week...
