This is what I originally thought however the article shows veg clearance on the disused island. *confused* This article suggests 4 through platforms...ie both islands reinstated but is from 2012...

So what exactly is happening here? The old island is being cleared and refurbed to house a south facing bay? Am i missing something??

seconded. the link would not be needed if metrolink had not seconded the heavy rail route into manchester. the rail network in cheshire is a joke. winsford - hartford and acton have a good service to liverpool and southwards to crewe (class 350's every 30 mins or so) yet no direct link to...

Does anyone expect, post-tpe-electrification, that some services will be combined particularly Leeds and Victoria terminated services?

would reopening the other standedge tunnels make the job easier/cheaper? the two disused tunnels could be brought to standard and electrified before being used as a diversion while the main currently used tunnel is upgraded. without reopening the tunnels what will the scope be? limited...
