I am one of those still waiting to hear from Freightliner, fortunately I secured a depot driver post with EMT. I'm 5 weeks into my training and there are currently 9 Freightliner drivers and a FL Train Manager doing the Freight to Passenger conversion course in the same building as us. Good news...

Yeah it was great. Met a few of the guys we'll be working with and seeing the depot in full swing was also an eye opener. All in all a great insight of what life will be like once we pass out.

Course going well. A lot to take in, but the instructors can't do enough to help us out. Had a few drives of various trains in the depot which helps put the theory side into practice and really helps the understanding of it all. We are probably halfway through the theory side of things, a hell...

I've picked Eastcroft and I'm training at Derby. I'm pretty sure that everyone will do their training at Derby.

Start with EMT on the 11th April as a Depot Driver. Absolutely made up and can only think that the bad news with Freightliner was a blessing as it means that I wouldn't have to relocate if I had been successful. Good luck to everyone else on your future endeavours.

I'm pretty sure it's either Eastcroft or Etches Park.

They said approximately 16 weeks, then I believe you have to work 20 turns at your depot before being signed off.

Eastcroft. Similar travelling time but Eastcroft nearer mileage wise. See you on the 11th, can't wait!

Well that's the pre employment meeting done and confirmation of passing the medical all in one day. Roll on the 11th, it's going to seem like an eternity. Can't wait to meet up with you guys who start in April, also good luck to everyone waiting to hear on results.
