Does someone have a spare needle and thread? This conversation reminds me of the typical city commuter who thinks that a ticket is their right to act like a god and its cracking me up. Thank god I am not a bellmonkey anymore!
For all the Guard/Ticket Inspector/TTI/conductor would know; your...
I completely agree with your comments about the requirement to manully overide the fares. I had to on occasions with my Avantix (and incidntally, never got pulled up for it).
I will stand by my comments on the thread though; and not knowing the original poster, nor the majority of members on...
I would hope that people think that the questions I have asked are for a perfectly valid purpose and for a perfectly valid reason. We can rule out routing and peak ticket issues (although the most expensive combination is still not near £44) and other options such as did the original poster...

This is the point I was try to make (quite badly).
There could be a million reason why the ticket was sold... SWT and EMT are under the same ownership, maybe the T/O may have been of the (incorrect) understanding that EMT and SWT operate the same evening peak restrictions.
It would be unlikely that the Havant T/O would know all restrictions for cross-London travel and therefore sold theticket they felt was most appropriate.
SWT of course, have no evening peak.
It dows show however, the shortfalls of the current ticketing system in place.
I suspect that they have to go for crew familisation so that the drivers can take it on thetest track!
Although the controls may be similar to other classes, there may be some quirksor other subtle changes.... like how to adjust the aircon.
