Once you've mastered the tap handle the 86 is really good to drive. Challenging yes, but once you're on top of it highly satisfying. None of this namby pamby combined notched handle nonsense! Just remember to keep the needle in the green!
The WCML route is a notorious resources eater. I can only run it with most settings at low and density at 4. Start with that and build up. When you get a 'something bad' you've reached your limit, though it's worth juggling settings. The RAM thing on UKTrainsim does help. It's still a fabulous...
Free roams are a bit tricky for travelling the length of a route with confidence due to pathing issues and mis-set turnouts etc. if I were you I'd create a standard or timetable scenario and use the timetable window to set your player service route and times. You do still need to check the path...
