You can walk all the way in T2, as far as I know there isn't a bus option. The way is clearly signposted after customs, and might take up to 10 mins depending on your pace and how much luggage you are lugging. In the short passageway after customs, you will probably go past a HEX rep who you can...
What will this mean for tickets routed any permitted where one route is a non-Gold card accepting TOC and another is? Eg Kings Cross to Cambridge, any permitted. Will the any permitted ticket not be available for sale to a Gold Card, or is the passenger expected to guess the different TOC names...
To not-exactly answer the question, when I buy an off-peak (or gold carded) ticket ahead of time, e.g. the day before travel, from South West Trains, they write 'RA' on the front of the ticket. They tell me this means 'Restrictions Advised', such as not before 10am with a Gold Card.
You mean we could finish up like this, with ten different cards, using logos ranging from a train to a penguin and a meerkat?

At least they have finally made them inter-available essentially nationwide, but that's a relatively recent...
Just for info - I purchased an Anytime Day Return CLJ -> CBG, +Any permitted. It worked both sets of gates at VXH with no problems. So even if the NRE/NRG is slightly insane, the passenger's experience is fine!
But NRE's routes which it displays but refuses fares for are not via Waterloo, they are CLJ -> VXH -> (Vic line) -> KGX. This looks like the extra distance is only the 1mi 66ch for using KGX instead of LST (because actually going to VIC is longer than going to VHX).
...my point being that if I...
Hello,
I am somewhat confused by the fares not shown for Clapham Junction to Cambridge, anytime day return (or any other type for that matter):

Why are there so many gaps...
This is a cool website!
I tried my commute, for which I know there are no splits: Clapham Junction to Basingstoke, anytime day return. Unfortunately, it told me to buy a LONDON NOT UND ticket for £25.10, when the correct ticket is NOT VIA LONDON for £19.30.
I am not immediately sure what...
I am not a fares expert, but I do regularly commute along the South West Mainline from/to Clapham Junction. There are fares routed 'NOT VIA LONDON' and 'VIA LONDON' to e.g. Basingstoke (and others). Obviously 'NOT VIA LONDON' is a bit cheaper. So in the case of heading back to civilisation BSK...
This is a great idea, I think this is what I will probably do.
This is also a top tip, and would have made my life somewhat cheaper and easier several times in the past had I known about Andover! The advantage is also that it gives me the choice on the spot as to whether to take the excess...
The trouble with the Warminster/Salisbury return ticket is that, at least according to NRE, I only have one train back the whole of Sunday at 1604. Which might be fine in fact, but is very inflexible.
Hello Fare Gods,
I would like to minimise my fare for the following itinerary, and I have a Gold Card (from an unrelated route):
Fri 14th: Clapham Jct -> Bristol Temple Meads, departing around 09.45/10.00, breaking journey at Basingstoke for the day, then resuming my journey and arriving...
Ok, thanks for the quick replies. I mistakenly thought that if either ticket was zonal the train did not need to stop, but actually they must both be zonal to use condition 19a (correct?).
I will try for the BZ ticket. But in the past, CLJ ticket clerks have refused to sell me on demand a...
