334s are max speed 90mph, and most if not all are limited/ governed to that. That's not to say that they couldn't reach the "ton" if allowed... :twisted:
The line was originally double all the way, being singled in the 70s between Barrhead and Kilmarnock. The line was slewed in several places to run in the centre of the formation to give clearance under some of the bridges.
It's not just FGW that's getting some, rumours have it that some are heading for Scotland to work Glasgow Central to Paisley Canal and Whifflet services. Driver training to start "next year"... :(
