The Merseytravel saveaway will cover travel from Meols Cop to Southport as it is within the area, so definitely worth buying this over the Merseyrail daysaver.
Then you would just need a return from Liverpool Lime Street <-> Runcorn.
As I understand it, class 730s are not currently routinely...
Headbolt Lane to Rainford & Southport to Meols Cop.
These fares are set by Merseyrail, presumably due to Merseytravel boundaries.
Fares between stations on the city line are also set by Merseyrail, and would qualify, with the exception of those originating in Liverpool as they are issued from...
I was under the impression that platform 6 was a north facing bay at Wolverhampton (with P5 being a South facing one) - but if that is not the case I can see that would be a significant hurdle. A 4 car 158 set has about half the capacity of 8x 350/2.
I agree that through traffic is negatively...
Probably many a reason why this would not work, but, if a high capacity Birmingham -> Manchester service was to be desired, perhaps TfW services which currently run to Birmingham International could be curtailed to run to Wolverhampton only.
These trains are low capacity in comparison to most...
The potential lack of break of journey is what is putting me off using this, as otherwise it would be a great improvement over queueing up in the morning peak to buy tickets.
I sometimes stop in the city centre on my way back from work between two merseyrail stations (& sometimes use the shops...
Yes, maybe I should appreciate a semi-regular commute more.
They're actually pretty pleasant to ride, when they work, just unfortunately that's not all the time :lol:Which seems to be echoed elsewhere, based on what DarloRich said about Bletchley.
Thank you for this insight. I didn't travel regularly during the introduction of the units, so explains why this is the first time I've seen it...
It's a shame they still seem to be fairly unreliable.
Unsure of how common it is, but took a very interesting photo on my way to work this morning. With the Borderlands line service in tatters (2 out of 3 diagrams heavily delayed), my train arrived in platform 1 - I did not even know there was track for trains from the Borderlands line to access...
Thanks - that's pretty definitive. I'll be traveling at times when there is no ticket office open in Shotton, so I'll see what I can obtain. Don't particularly want to buy the cheaper ticket and not be able to get an excess for it that evening.
Hi all,
I am looking to travel from Shotton to Blackpool North over a couple of days. The two available fares are as follows:
https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=SHT&dest=BPN&rte=311&tkt=SOR
(A more expensive anytime return, routed "via Liverpool")...
Sorry, I probably should've used an example closer to what I was actually considering doing, but I didn't know if it was potentially unintended.
I was thinking of excessing a (super) off peak day travel card route via X to an any permitted one in a single direction.
Or alternatively, simply a...
