Widnes station in the north west is 1.5 miles from the station to the centre of town. The station should really be called Farnworth as the town/village is a lot closer to the station than it is to Widnes.

Can anyone tell me why it is that I can buy a EUS-LIV ticket for £32.90 (and then pay the TBD-STP fare separate) but when I do the full journey TBD-LIV, I get either £75.60 or the full single fare of £90 and change?

A lot of the services I am seeing with supposed saver tickets (at £75.60 one way for 2 adults, 3 children) are showing as limited availability, hence the question above about buying the LIV-EUS ticket I can see now for £32.15 or waiting a little longer to see if through tickets become available...
