Piccadilly Medley - 1938 stock outings

It's even more of an experience driving a 38 in service, especially in the days before it had a speedo! I was lucky enough to drive them in passenger service on the Northern Line before they went overseas to the IOW or the LT museum

Iarnród Éireann Driver & Guard, Route & Traction Cards

I really have found it interesting reading the drivers establishment lists as someone who use to write and allocate duties for drivers at my own depot during special working periods. What does have me rather confused, (not hard I know!) is Mullingar with one driver, do they do the same duty...

Eurostar St Pancras - is bedlam normal?

I travelled out on the 20th January, getting the 08:16 to Amsterdam, (I was only going to Brussels) and I had a terrible time getting through taking nearly an hour. Staff were having to shout out if anyone was requiring the 07:31 train that were still stuck in the queues, there was a so-called...

    Dublin: Leap Cards

I actually got one in the GPO (desk 2) a couple of weeks ago, also you can get one in the Dublin Bus office just up the road from the GPO, although it's closed at weekends hence why I went to the GPO

Compensation for abandoned journey on day 4 of All Line Rover

The advice they were giving out at KGX this morning was that if your journey is not essential, don't travel. So as far as I see it, my journey would not be deemed essential, (going for a trip on a steam train on the KWVR), so as I'm following LNER instructions, I should be entitled to some kind...

Compensation for abandoned journey on day 4 of All Line Rover

Hi folks, I was wondering if someone could advise me where I stand with this: I am currently 4 days into a 7 day all line rover, and this morning, (Sunday 14th April) I was intending to visit the Keighly & Worth Valley Railway and I had a seat reserved on the 09:00 KGX - LDS. However the ECML...

    Two way signals London Underground

Yes, there is a south to north crossover at Warren Street direct from the platform. To do the move north to south, the train has to shunt forward into the tunnel, but from the south it can be doe directly from the southbound platform.

    The Plant Invader

I was there, remember it well. Loco's involved 33028+031, 56011, 58010, 20054+093, 08876, same loco's on the way back except 33020+039 back to Clapham from Brent instead of the first two 33's.

    New Years Day timetable eccentricities

That hasn't happened for years, went out sometime during the 90's. They get paid extra for working New Years Eve night, but no extra for working any bank holiday.

    London Underground Schedule Compiler

How many times have I heard that over the years with LU! I spent many an hour up at duty schedules over the years, many at meetings admittedly, they seemed like a decent bunch up there.

Typical OTT media: Southeastern commuter told he could be jailed for missing stop

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/news/sleeping-train-commuter-threatened-with-128493/ Could be jailed for missing stop, really? Hardly likely unless he has previous for trying to avoid paying. With his name he'd be more at home commuting to the moon, give him more time to sleep as well!!!
