Thanks Haywain. The journey planners are still trying to pull me into London - they then suggest Harlow -> Stratford -> (tube) -> Victoria -> Chestfield. But I can figure it out as long as the ticket is valid :)
Thanks Haywain, that's good to know. So as long as it's 'Any Permitted' we can ignore what the journey planner suggests and change at Stratford? Thanks again for checking.
Hi All, I am looking at a journey from Harlow down to North Kent for a family member. They could go into London to change (or via Tottenham and tube) but I wondered whether it is possible to change at Stratford, walk through to Stratford International (a 5 min walk according to Google Maps) then...
Heh, yes that is definitely not a good look. The 'insect-mageddon' occasionally predicted by the papers on slow news days definitely hasn't yet translated into bug-free train lines!
Hello All! Was passing through Finsbury Park yesterday and noticed 717023 going through with a very pale front. Does UK rolling stock no longer have to have yellow frontage for safety reasons, or is this some sort of test train? It looked like it was in normal service.
Hello All, as previously discussed on here I have split season tickets from Peterborough to London Terminals, split at an intermediate station that the LNER trains don't call at, but as per NRCoC 14.2 this is a valid thing to do if one's a season ticket (just checked and the wording is still the...
It seems that LNER are regularly struggling to download seat reservations on to the 225 carriage electronic displays lately, which unhelpfully instead display a jumble akin to what you would get if you stamped on a calculator LCD panel! A couple of times for me they have pulled the reservations...
Does anyone know how half minutes are handled by TOCs under Delay Repay? I was on a service today which according to RTT got in 29.5 minutes late - well, realistically by the time it pulled up to the platform and the doors opened it was well over 30 minutes but I appreciate it's where it's...
Presumably unless they can get 14.2 taken out of the Conditions of Travel or encourage Great Northern to up their fares (hmmm, not much encouragement needed there!), there's not a lot that can be done to prevent this? Or could they get an LNER exemption written in somewhere? I guess not, or all...
So here's how the sorry saga worked out (with a happy ending):
1. Original purchase - my mistake - knew PBoro was outside GC, but wrongly assumed LNER ticket office there could print gold cards for seasons within the zone. Was told I could exchange ticket within zone.
2. Went to King's Cross...
Yep I had planned to purchase online (even registered on the TransPennine website!) but for various reasons just left it too late and simply didn't realise it would be a problem buying at PBO, otherwise I would have bought the GC half of it at the London end. Definitely my bad on the original...
Well fair enough, however I have just been told at Peterborough ticket office, contradicting what KGX told me 40 mins ago, that it will "not be an issue at any station in the Gold Card area" to recode and print my ticket as a Gold Card, and the only reason they don't do so at Peterborough is...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
