Thanks all one of the staff DM me last night and gave me an email address to contact them on with the booking ref which I did and it was sorted first thing this morning.
Yes I hold another card on that account.
It only really comes out if I run out of contactless transactions (every so often they do a PIN check to prevent fraud) or when I draw from an ATM.
The virtual card is an anti-fraud idea. Any issues I can simply block it within my banks app and carry...
Hi,
Earlier tonight I purchased some train tickets using the TrainSpit iOS app.
I paid using MasterCard but used a virtual card, that, although tied to my bank account isn't an actual plastic card.
I only realised after paying that the TVM wants the card I paid with for collection.

I haven’t seen the broadcast but sounds like a misunderstanding?
This sort of thing always reminds me of the incident at Kempston Hardwick and the level crossing attendant with no flags.
The driver always regretted not using the SPT.

And 7xx is another odd one? Some bran new units are being given 7xx such...

Agreed.

If someone gives false details to avoid paying their fare I would think deception or fraud by false representation may have been committed but I’m no expert.
Just come across this BBC South Today edition from 18/01/1985 on You Tube:
5m 50s in is a report about modernisation work at Brighton including mention of a new Solari board, it shows the old manual? one and a Solari board that was in use (then!) at London Victoria.
It would appear so, although they don’t actually say that.
But they do say:
(My bold/italics)
They then go on to give instructions on how to contact them.

I think there should be a FAQ in there or a little bit more...
