    Merseytravel free passes are available between Hooton and Chester. Unless there is to be a similar arrangement on the Runcorn line, it is unlikely many passengers with free passes will switch to the new service.

    The most authentic film featuring railways in the UK was the Ladykillers from 1955. Wonderful shots of the climb out of Kings Cross. I seem to remember that there was a DVD which also showed outtakes from the film which were even better.
