Looking through the back window, it would appear that only the up line has been wired north of Tirphil station. I can't see any infrastructure for the down line to be electrified at present, which is interesting.

I rode between Tirphil and Bargoed today. There are now Poles from the south of Tirphil to south of Brithdir.

I saw at least one 769 heading south from Tirphil this morning, before 10am.

I saw one fail at Pengam station. It looked like the brakes refused to come off as the train started. That said I am blissfully ignorant of the engineering on these units. As a passenger I found the two I've ridden on most comfortable. Their definitely a nicer ride that a Sprinter.

I was in one of the non-engine coaches. Once it was up to speed, it was very quiet.

I caught the service to Rhymney. Compared to the Pacers it felt luxurious. The rattling and vibration leaving stations wasn't the best.

A 37 just passed Tirphil heading North.
