    Ember: Electric coach service

Very interesting. Looks like we may be about to see the end of Stagecoach's dominance over the Fife express coach market. I wonder if Ember will have a go at Glasgow-Dunfermline-Kirkcaldy-Dundee or Edinburgh-Kirkcaldy-Leven-St Andrews.

    First Greater Glasgow

It does not, bus open data standards only apply in England. The Scottish Government is pursuing similar regulations but they likely won't mandate live tracking until the first half of 2028 at the earliest. That's likely the earliest date First will allow their services and vehicles to be tracked...

    Electric trains using unelectrified track

On the 24th December 2004 318254 made it to the (then) unelectrified western bay platforms at Edinburgh Waverley. Supposedly the signaller had set the incorrect road for the unit. I believe it had to be recovered with a locomotive. Photograph courtesy of Andrew Wade on Facebook.

Strange/unusual destinations programmed in the PIS

LNER have announcements recorded for North Road, Newton Aycliffe, Heighington (mispronounced), Shildon and Bishop Auckland. Perhaps a homage to the line where the Azumas were built?

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

I disagree regarding desired destinations - the 514 provides a public transport link to Bishopton town centre and Braehead and to Paisley, Glasgow and Inverclyde through rail connections at Bishopton station. These are likely the most popular destinations. It's just that buses are generally an...

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

It's a shame it hasn't been a success. Dargavel appears to be quite car-centric like a lot of modern housing developments unfortunately (plentiful car parking) and those who can afford a new house there are unlikely to want to travel by bus, so it isnt a surprise sadly.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I used the service for the first time on Tuesday to visit Tantallon Castle. There was a good load of probably around 20 on board when I caught the bus to the castle from East Linton, far fewer people on board when I caught the bus later to North Berwick from the castle. It's clear that the...

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

I don't believe it's been mentioned on this thread yet but the 514 is also registered as cancelled from the 2nd May.

    First Greater Glasgow

It's now been updated: https://www.firstbus.co.uk/greater-glasgow/plan-journey/lanarkshire-network-changes#networkmap Overall I'd say it's a downgrade from the previous map as it no longer shows any services from other operators, though of course I do understand why.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

According to The Courier, Midland Bluebird have received another warning from the Traffic Commissioner after drivers were told to avoid DVSA checks at Stirling bus station if any lights were showing on the dashboard...

I don't think I've ever seen this many double deckers on the 36 at once. Makes a nice change.

It doesn't specify what stops services are calling at though. For example, what stops are the 18/18A calling at in the city centre towards East Kilbride? Is it running non-stop? It's unclear.

    Stagecoach West Scotland

What a curious arrangement! I suppose if it works out for both Stagecoach and WCM in at least the short term then so be it.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Agreed. They are nice buses but they often get very busy, in particular the lower deck.
