Madness prevails it seems. Aldeburgh-Leiston-Saxmundham now has 4 (mostly empty) buses per hour - services 64/521/522 - many double deckers. Ridiculously overbussed. Yet many villages nearby have nothing.
I took those lunchtime trains a few times out of Broad St - near empty Rolls Royce 3 car Class 125 dmu. The similar Saturday lunchtime departures from Moorgate Widened Lines Cravens 2 car Class 105s were likewise near empty until Kings X
How about the Rolls Royce hydraulic class 125 DMUs that ran on the Lea Valley and later the GN suburban seeviea from Broad St and Kings X? They were withdrawn en masse after GN electrification. I think that Stratford was prob pleased to see them go
Back in late 70s/early 80s I was fascinated how all this was managed by Eastern Counties. You could for example go to Ipswich Old Cattle Market and observe departures and vehicle types on a Saturday and then again in following weeks and it all seemed so random! By then crew duties seemed...
How about the platform at kings X suburban (was it 16 or 17?) from moorgate. A 6 car cravens (3 x power trailer sets) really struggled with full load of commuters
