I have travelled extensively overnight in Amtrak Coach class and their seats are very comfy, recline a lot which plenty of leg room and they dim the lights at night. It's a shame that European trains don't have the same level of seating comfort in their seating coaches.

The only time I travelled on this line was some time during the mid 90's There was a blockade on the line from Ashburys to Piccadilly so they ran a service into Victoria instead. I cannot remember if the service ran direct from Marple or we had to change onto a shuttle service at Ashburys.

It looks like the delayed Lowland Sleeper was overtaken by the first Virgin train of the day from Glasgow just south of Milton Keynes then arrived 30 mins later than it. That must have been a depressing sight.

I have not yet heard the announcement at Manchester Piccadilly for the weekend direct service to Pembroke Dock which never used to be a service until recently as far as I know. Given the lack of 175’s it would not surprise me if a 150 has done the whole journey!
