    Merseyrail 777 introduction

Re Hunts Cross - Southport reinstatement. I do not understand why the current situation is tolerated. I believe it was only 3 morning services and 3 evening services that were timetabled historically as 6 car/8 car services. Frankly it is Cressington that should be missing out on a few service...

Runcorn - Altrincham: Terrible fare that must be a mistake?

Arrogant!? Really?! Lovely stuff. Liverpool South parkway to Altrincham is £24 for an anytime return (priced by East Midlands). South parkway to Runcorn is £6.50 for an anytime return (priced by west midlands). Yet the flow in question is priced at a handsome £52 by a different toc. Here is a...

Runcorn - Altrincham: Terrible fare that must be a mistake?

1767127629 So why bother replying? This place is hilarious sometimes. If it's not a mistake then it's a malicious grudge against any poor soul from runcorn who wants to actually attempt the journey! I thought it was mildly interesting to have found an anomaly that is this bad. Hey maybe a...

Runcorn - Altrincham: Terrible fare that must be a mistake?

Nice try, but this one's just a mistake. Acton bridge is the next station south with arguably even more convoluted routing by rail geography but the fare is less than half! (And also much more in line with every other station within 10 miles).

Runcorn - Altrincham: Terrible fare that must be a mistake?

£52.30 for an anytime return from Runcorn to Altrincham!!! Haha. This must be a record breaker. Fare apparently set by transpennine which has flip all to do with it you would think. It's only about 15 miles and 15 or 20 mins tops in the car! Or £32 for off peak How do these weird anomalies slip...

Change of route excess - Runcorn to Trowbridge

Ah. I see, and this applies to any attempt at changes before boarding too? In which case the new NRCoT rules (the dodgy removal of bullet 13.2?) that have come into effect this week (from 23rd November) really are a very significant downgrade in ticket flexibility and availability for paying...

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

I note that in the now published version that "13.2" is still, very unhelpfully, missing...

Change of route excess - Runcorn to Trowbridge

Appreciate the input. The outcome I fear is that an interpretation will be made that the "appropriate fare" for a change of route excess in this instance would be the "not via london" Anytime fare, which would be painful as this anytime fare is ~£175 more! In that instance I suppose the best...

Change of route excess - Runcorn to Trowbridge

If I have this Anytime Return ticket (routed via Hereford) https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=RUN&dest=TRO&rte=822&tkt=SOR am I entitled when making the return journey to request a change of route excess to this Off peak return ticket (not via london)...

Liverpool South parkway to Watford (or euston) Super Off Peak

It used to show up ok in decent journey planners like the split ticket one but it's knackered in all of them now. I would be happy to argue the toss if challenged but precious few would. The data restriction posted by bcarmicle above is clearly wrong in a number of ways - worth flagging to...

Liverpool South parkway to Watford (or euston) Super Off Peak

The super off peak west midlands trains only fare for this journey has always come with some heavy restrictions but something looks to have gone awry in the databases now. I think it comes down to this (new?) wording inserted into the restrictions. "Not valid for travel on services timed to...

    Euston - Staines

Perfect. I had forgotten about that code as the way to force a journey from the wrong terminal / zone 1 to use the tube. 1693839449 Thanks. Will have a hunt. I originally had a look from South Hampstead and there are no fares available via Euston! :( Also looked from Watford and the off peak...

    Euston - Staines

Is it possible to buy a ticket for this journey (day return just after 9am, 1adult, 1 child (aged 13) F&F railcard) inclusive of Cross - London transfer by tube via waterloo/vauxhall, and onwards? Ticket websites imply it is possible but it is never clear to me if the cross-london tube...

Future of Ticket Office Consultations launched

Slightly tongue in cheek comment, but if you are going to restrict access for a variety of assistance needs etc, then why would anyone bother with creating level access, DDA compliant toilets etc... Will people question the logic of spending £££££ on that infrastructure if you follow through on...

Will WHSmith or Costa decide to go into ticket retailing?! Or should I!?!?
