Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

I watched this yesterday. An excellent video along the rarely shown route between Doncaster and Lincoln, plus continuing to Peterborough via the new underpass! Thank you.

Thanks for the "heads up." Any idea when you'll be uploading this?

Does the UK have a "premier" main line?

The ECML is also known to rail enthusiasts in other countries because of Mallard and 126 mph.

HS2 should stop at more stations in the Chilterns

No, it isn't. NIMBYism is rooted in resenting changes which spoil a person's life. NIMBYs do not object to changes that enhance their lives, not do they dislike changes which don't affect them. No NIMBY has ever objected to major changes to contemporary life such the Internet, on-line shopping...

Could the ECML be upgraded to a proper high speed railway?

South of Newton Aycliffe yes, but not north of there where it's mainly a twin track formation anyway.

Sadiq Khan says future of Heathrow Express should be ‘reconsidered’ due to Elizabeth line success

We Londoners do not need to be reminded that "it's" not all about us.

I recorded it this morning and I'll probably watch it tonight. I've never seen the route from Rugeley to Walsall so I'm looking forward to this.

I watched this a couple of days ago. Many thanks. That low sun in the first few minutes was a pain in the neck! If this move is regular, perhaps you might do it again in the summer.

Potential new West London Orbital route

I certainly agree about OOC being by far the most important single item of this project. My guess is that West Hampstead Station has been dropped because the Hendon Lines have no platforms there, and there is no room for them either. In other threads the idea of a burrowing junction with the...

Many thanks. I look forward to both, particularly Nottingham to Matlock. To the best of my knowledge, until now there's been no high quality footage of the Ambergate to Matlock route.

Closure of Bransty Tunnel (near Whitehaven) expected until at least spring 2026

I'm a fan of old movies and I re-watched the Blu-ray of that film a few weeks ago. I suspect a few older people here know who Spencer Tracy was!

    Elizabeth Line - future routes

That option is not easy at all, unless you don't mind chaos. The section of route between Woodgrange Park and Barking is already busy with 4 London Overground trains an hour in each direction plus numerous freight trains to/from Tilbury and London Gateway. Forest Gate Junction is not grade...

What would you do to improve the London Underground?

The obvious place to extend it to is Leytonstone, as has been suggested many times before. The distance between Walthamstow Central and Leytonstone Station is about two miles as the crow flies, 2.2 miles by the shortest road road route.
