Isn’t Crossrail and Crossrail 2 just essentially a modernised 21st century version of the tube anyway. Just like how Deep Level was after Sub-Surface?

I have to agree the Southeastern stations are in terrible condition and the dreary Grey only shows up more of the dirt. The network looks old and unwelcoming for the 21st Century.

In my opinion the only way the Overground would be able to even takeover is if only a handful of routes were taken such as the Bexleyheath Line it wouldn’t work if they simply took over all Metro Services as they go far out.

Has it been mentioned if Crossrail will eventually be 24 hour? It would be a massive help I’d imagine if it was.

I imagine the 707s are going to be used on all the services which the 376s use? Since they are both 10 car trains. Maybe they will be used a lot more on all the loop services allowing the ageing networkers to keep to shorter journeys?

Whilst on this topic has anyone travelled on Thameslink around the North Kent Line. The dodgy people walking up and down the aisle harassing people for money. Smoking, Loud music all sorts of anti-social behaviour.

SouthEastern Networkers use to have a very strong distinctive smell as well, Some still have it.

Like it or not Grey is the most popular colour nowadays, Not just for Trains but for pretty much everything! I prefer it to boring White. If you want to survive the 21st Century you will have to get use to the colour Grey..

I feel a lot of Naughties designs are more futuristic than Modern Liveries, I feel in the 2020s we will see White continue to die as in general we are seeing Grey/Silver take over White is the main shade in design.
