Hi, Can anyone shed any light on exactly where the proposed EMR depot at Kettering will be? And any other information you can provide would be most welcome. EMR have advertised for internal drivers to transfer there but have provided no information at all! TIA.

It's a good thing for you. The questions should all be competency based so match your answers with your experience accordingly. Use key *buzzwords* relevant to the role you're going for and only bring up your reasons for taking on a *lesser* job if asked/relevant. Good luck.

If your trainer is rostered to work then you will, if not you won't. Some trainers also come off the roster so they will then choose the day's you will come in. So you might be doing some specific routes, times or days to cover your training needs. Hope this helps

Nice idea but no. They would not be able to accommodate a visit to the depot. Presumably you don't have your PTS and DM's would not have the time between investigating incidents and drinking tea.

Hello all. I'm aware this may be a subjective question but wondered if anyone has any definite positives/negatives working as a trainee train driver for either of the mentioned tocs? Distance wise is roughly equal for my travel time so I'm looking for other comparisons to inform my decision...

Yeah I was in the same situation as you. I knew absolutely nothing about the railway when I got a trainee driver post but don't worry, you'll soon know your notch 3's from your bogies.
