Today, most of the Anglo-Scottish cancellations were Euston to Preston via Trent Valley. The ones via the West Midlands seemed unaffected. I was on the 15.35 Glasgow to Preston - should have gone to Euston via the Trent Valley. It was lightly loaded, just 4 in carriage G.
It seems that 9s97 1740 Euston to Glasgow and 1s98 1930 Euston to Glasgow are both held in Preston for some time. 1s88 TPE to Glasgow appears to be stopped short of Lancaster.
Also, 9m62 1852 Edinburgh Euston heading north on the down line at Carnforth. Unless it's a glitch on Tracksy!
There also seems to be an issue at Weaver Jnc on the down line to Liverpool. On Tracksy it has "No Go" on that line, with trains not moving at Acton Bridge and Harford down line only.
Today I used the 9.50 Lumo service from Carlisle to Stirling. It was not busy; only 3 others in my coach (G)
Apart from 3 toilets being out of use, it was a pleasant journey. The trolley appeared after Lockerbie; the onboard staff were very good.
On a different note, it was good to see that...
Trains seem to be moving on the Up line. 9S60 - 1040 Euston to Glasgow looks to be stuck just south of the Barton& Broughton loop, so nothing moving on the Down line at the moment.
Just as I posted 9S60 is on the move lol!
I'm afraid my only source was comments made by a couple of Steam-related YouTube videos. That is why I asked the question, hoping that someone more knowledgeable might know the answer.
The WCML is having another bad day. Overhead wire issues south of Rugby I believe. The usual cancellations and late-running trains. I was using the West Midlands Rover but gave up due to the former and the trains being full and standing.
For the past 18 months ( maybe longer ), there has been a 50mph tsr through Motherwell station- so two rather obvious questions
1 What is the reason for the restriction?
2 Are there any plans to fix it or will the tsr become a psr?
Apologies if this has been discussed before.
I used the service today, from Carlisle to Preston. It was about half full. We left on time, and despite a very slow approach through Lancaster ( behind the TPE Glasgow Manchester Airport service, I guess ). Despite that, we still arrived about five minutes early. This meant a 15-minute dwell...
