Its just a job. at the end of the day if your lifestyle and routine don`t agree with it you`d end up just leaving anyway. your roster and routine actually sound good and if you really wanted to you could make the money. if the railway still appeals to ya maybe you should look at the operations...

A certain hr lady once said it works out roughly to 5% of staff a year per traincrew depots for randoms but obviously there`s for cause and the suspicious ones.

Yes and a place on a course has been offered fairly soon. Realistically i cant clear off all debt and manage the mortgage etc in the time-frame before the course starts.
Does anyone know wether you can defer the course or are they just likely to go with someone already prepared to start?

Most TOCS down south have really competitive salaries across all departments. Jobs in HR and Perfomance all usually attract anything up to 40k as a starting salary.
Even NR TDA`s are on that as a starting salary and that is considered by some as an entry into railway type of job
