My wife was on the initial 715 guildford to waterloo via epsom this morning, she described it as full from London Road onwards, with people at later stations pleading to be let on, and the train gradually picking up delays as people tried to get on at each station
The 640 from Havant is the 718 at Godalming I mentioned above. It's now nowhere near as quiet as it used to be. Usually standing room only from Guildford except on Fridays.
That's a little late in the morning for me, before Covid my wife and I have always been able to get seats together on the 643, 718 or 727 in coach 9 of 12 over the last year. On the 658 we sometimes could get a seat together and sometimes apart in coach 10 of 10.
In the evening there is a train...
I think it was about July/August time, I just asked at the ticket office.
One thing I would say is that while the morning isnt too bad, the traffic around the station itself in the evening can be very bad, particularly if it's raining, as when they added the new entrance and barriers, they...
The last time I asked (about a year ago), the waiting list at Godalming station for a season ticket was 18 around months. It's also not possible to buy a car park ticket on the day until after rush hour (9 or 930am I think) - although I guess this restriction may have been relaxed currently...
Chaos at Waterloo about 30 min ago . Station entrances were closed with large crowds outside. No announcements to the people outside. When I eventually got to the front we were told by btp that there were either no trains or only 1 in 5 trains running, that the station was full and noone else...
I have been using SWT Smartcard for the last 8 months, with a monthly travelcard from Godalming. It works without any issues on London Underground & London buses, just tap it on the reader as you would an Oyster or debit card. It also works the barriers at any valid intermediate station without...
I started a new job last month that usually involves travel to Shepherds Bush, and occasionally to Ealing Broadway. I'm trying to work out the best way of handling this.
If I buy a season to zones 2-6, is there a way of adding zone1 on a day by day basis so that I can travel on a peak train...
I've used this mid-sunday afternoon train regularly over the last year, and it is often standing room only from Thirsk, and always rammed from York. An additional service is very welcome.
edit: noticed a few of the journeys have had 10 minutes or so shaved off. a couple are longer, and one...
I used the same type of ticket last year when returning to Woking from Dublin, after the ash cloud cancelled my return flight. I had to explain the ticket briefly at the Euston LU barrier, and I had no problem getting out at Waterloo.
I was told recently that any ticket will open the gates at the moment, as they are trying to get as many people as possible used to using them before they start setting them to reject tickets.
I was at woking yesterday morning around 8 for around 15 minutes waiting for a guildford train, and most of the london bound trains around that time were marked as full and standing from their previous station. this was under the much reduced snow timetable though
