The line does indeed run on the street for a bit, it leads to the container terminal. Then it enters the spiral “Brajdica” tunnel and rejoins the mainline at Sušak-Pećine station.
There is vehicular access from A487 at Glandyfi all the way to the Llyfnant River where there is a kind of a provisional carpark. There are regularly vans parked there but I am not sure if the access road is public access or limited to Network Rail etc.

I've always thought it is cultural ... They assume you have a ticket until it's obvious you don't. The contrary to what we're used to (presume fare dodging until you produce a ticket).

It is certainly allowed to discriminate against certain "wrong" nationalities, this is just how the world works. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it's a reality. You know, for example visa requirements vary wildly depending on what passport you hold.

It used to be possible to pay for buses in Ljubljana (Slovenia) with your phone. You would dial 1899, press call, and hold the phone near the terminal. It would make some old-timey noises (like a dial-up modem) and then the bus fare would appear on your monthly phone bill!

Northern to Preston, Avanti to Edinburgh, and ScotRail to Inverness. It’s a Manchester-Edinburgh off-peak return (route Avanti&Northern) combined with an Edinburgh-Inverness anytime return (route via Aviemore). There aren’t any cheaper options via Glasgow unfortunately.

The forum’s ticketing site only offers the Edinburgh split, it seems to be the only option if I want to avoid advance fares.
