Hi all, I am planning a return trip in April from Manchester to Inverness. I can save about £40 by splitting at Edinburgh, but I haven’t been able to find any further options to bring the cost down. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Ideally I’d like to avoid advance tickets. Thanks!

Gosh that’s worded really confusingly, isn’t it? They could have just said “runs on weekends/public holidays only, except 27/06–31/08 and 22/12–05/01 when it’s daily”, no? Although that does leave out 22/06 which is a Sunday.
