Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

Think beyond the immediate - I can assure you the Primrose Hill connection is an absolute godsend to those of us who need to plan stuff at short notice. There is simply no capacity for most of the day on the NLL between Kensal Green Jn and Gospel Oak.

Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

I'm no structural engineer, but I have to admit when I first saw that update I considered it optimistic. Let's not forget it isn't just a case of the demolition work, but the repair / reinstatement of the OLE underneath.

Midlands Rail Hub 20m extra seats

As long as the proposed plans actually materialise once they've got rid of the station then this will undoubtedly be worth it in the long run. What I wouldn't want to see happen is the closure of a station mysteriously followed by the remaining bits of the project not happening due to lack of...

Tyne & Wear Metro Fleet Replacement: Awarded to Stadler

That's correct - the path I often use was already allocated to Colas' 6Z02, but this was academic anyway as there's a possession coming on relatively early in the Factory / Longhedge Junction areas. Solution to this is to go earlier but run via Wembley (to avoid NLL congestion). ECML is closed...

Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

Provisional milestone for the line to reopen is Monday 9th Feb.

Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

Because of several stuck units already on the line, some without power or drivers, or perhaps both. And that's once you've checked the freight driver signs the alternative route and that their load is cleared that way too. I'd imagine the priority was given to passenger over freight for the...

Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

For clarity, it is likely that displaced crew is only one piece of the puzzle today, as there were also so many trains misplaced, huge amounts of congestion caused by even more freight than usual being shoehorned onto the section of the NLL between Willesden Jn and Camden Road that would...

Fire at Primrose Hill (near Euston) 30/01/26

There was initially a huge area that ended up tripping, then required isolation for the fire to be tackled. Eventually things appeared to be restored in stages by earthing etc. Not my area of expertise! Unfortunately the building is severely damaged and the line directly under it will remain...
