I’ve overheard the guards mentioning there is too much SDO and it is inconsistent (some stations the front of the train is off the platform, others the back) and the systems are not straightforward or playing ball.

Isn't the problem with the SDO? I think they have done a more thorough job of extending the platforms on the west side. I agree with your solution though

It is a real shame as it has tanked the reliability on what was previously a reliable line and in practice has cut capacity compared to when it was operated by 4 car 333s and 4 car 331s

There seems to be lots of problems with the 6 cars 2 331s coupled together. Several times I have used the services they have either not made it out of Leeds (and have had to be split and heavily delayed) or had issues at a short platform station en route and incurred heavy delays.

I was on 1S47, smell of burning and smoke coming from under one of the middle coaches. Everyone evacuated and sent down to the lower level. Making my way back to Leeds via Manchester

It is the same situation at Shipley heading towards Leeds. At Apperley Bridge the extended areas of the platforms appear to still be fenced off despite having finished construction several months ago.

Two 6 car workings out this morning - starting on the 0716 Skipton to Leeds and 0730 Skipton to Leeds. Was a welcome boost in capacity on my morning commute.

Any news on when the 6 car working will start on the east side? The overcrowding on the 3 car workings in and out of Leeds is pretty severe in the rush hour and busy times at the weekend
