    My message was in jest - I know the story of how he got his name - I was just wondering about his route - how did he get to Paddington? Unless of course the ship he was on docked at Fishguard and he stowed away on the boat train

    Ok, so it's always bugged me - how did Paddington Bear get from Peru to Paddington Station? If he came in a container ship he would have probably have landed somewhere on the east or south coast and then travelled to London from there. So why isn't he called "Liverpool St" or "Waterloo"?

    I've seen that Amtrak do a similar ticket to interail - 10 sections for $500 in 30 days. I was wondering what the best value for money route to take would be? I presume using some of the longer journeys such as California Zephyr, Coast Starlight & Silver Meteor would be the ones to go for.

    For scotland you could do: Glasgow - Mallaig - ferry to skye, taxi to Kyle of Lochalsh then to inverness. Thats probably one day in itself - obviously the far north line is just up and down.
