    Chiltern Railways Trainee Driver Vacancies

The way I look at it, you are going for a very sought after job with a wage most dream of. Dress up and make an impression. It's not unknown for some TOC's to put their own staff in as candidates to check out the potential new recruits!

Qualified drivers changing company, have you done it?

I moved to Chiltern. I had sent a CV in via email and paper copy and rang them every couple of months to remind them I was interested. They rang me out of courtesy to tell me the job was to be advertised that day and I was welcome to apply as I had shown a keen interest. They mentioned a deal...

    GWR drivers managers interview

A lot of similar questions as you would have had for your other interview will be in there, ie emergency situations, shift work, working alone, time under pressure etc. However, there will be a few more personal ones thrown in like proving you live within a set distance or are prepared to...

    Train Drivers retirement age?

Ours has gone from 60 to 62 but it varies with people. At my last depot one driver retired at 55 whilst recently two left when they hit 68.

    Qualified Driver Move

I recently moved to Chiltern with 17 months qualified at time of interview. A friend has just joined Cross Country with 2 years experience and I know of two lads that went to TPE with about 12 and 5 months driving under their belt. I also had an interview with Virgin who only required 6 months...

    Virgin Qualified Drivers

I know that they have depots in at least Wolverhampton, Preston and I think Liverpool (though this is virtually impossible to go straight in to apparently). I recently had an interview with them and whilst lack of experience was a drawback, lack of high speed driving wasn't.

    MMI Answer length

I just bullet pointed the written bits and that gave me more scope to elaborate in the verbal bits.

First Great Western - Trainee Drivers

They don't seem to have taken on any qualifieds either to be honest. There are a lot of factors to take into account at the moment when it comes to recruitment. Initially the company were swamped with new entrants and didn't have the instructors or managers to train and pass the trainees out...

    Qualified roles? have you moved

    Qualified roles? have you moved

Hi, I'm about to move from GWR to Chiltern. I just sent a couple of speculative CV's in and kept an eye on the websites. I got a few interviews out of it and thought Chiltern were the best bet for me. They actually rang me to make sure I had seen the advert as I had previously expressed an...

    Trainee Depot Driver - Derby

The group bourdon is designed to track your concentration so the idea is to be as strong in your last lines as you were in the rest of them.

    Chiltern Railway Info Welcome

Can I ask what 50% rest day agreement is? Does that mean you work one in 2 Saturdays? Especially interested from the Birmingham point of view. Many thanks.
