Can i ask where you've heard this?
I'd be VERY surprised if the training was at Ashford or Orpington when i'm fairly confident that we will not be signing routes around there... pretty sure it would just be with Gillingham drivers?
As for the Selhurst rumour... i have it from a good source...
Because Selhurst is practically a 24 hour depot. Our earliest start time is 03.33 and latest finish is 02.03 so i've had no choice but to drive for the past 4 years lol.
Takes about an hour and a half by train. Into Victoria and back out.
Can tell you from experience that it is a bugger to get too. I've been a guard there for the past 4 years and live in Chatham so i really hope this is not true lol.
Dont suppose anyone has found out which routes Gillingham will be doing? And what traction?
Im guessing most of the training will be done with southeastern drivers?
Mid November i got mate. I got an internal date as well which is different to those who will be starting externally.
Also, Duffman... I think somebody already answered this above mate. Basically just swat up on the company and think of various different examples of things you have done that...

I applied and heard within a few days inviting me to come and complete an assessment day where i had to do...
Absolutely over the moon.
Received the call today i had been waiting for. I have a start date for Gillingham :) i was offered an earlier start date but went for a later one as it is more suitable for me.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me on this forum!
Good luck to everyone else...
Just noticed that the advertisement for Gillingham has gone back up again. That's rare! Maybe they have more vacancies than they thought or just didn't have enough people get through assessments or intervews.
Either way, if you missed it first time, nows your chance!
Open until the 12th...
Thameslink have a higher pass criteria for some reason. Not sure why but they do. Had the same thing happen to a few people back when i did my assessment too.
Sure. You'll have to fill in a general health questionnaire stating any conditions or anything you may have and they'll probably ask you a few questions regarding anything you put down.
They'll take your blood pressure, test your vision and hearing and you'll also have to have an ECG.
They...
