Using this logic, the DfT should step in and sort out the funding for the Metropolitan Line Extension (MLX) to Watford Junction. If I understand correctly, the extra trains required and purchased and in operation - we're just missing the actual construction of the route.
Not 100% sure, but I think this VTWC service from Euston to Glasgow Central may be the train involved:

Ultimately it was terminated at Milton Keynes Central 277L; I found what appeared to be the next movement for this set which...
I echo all of the earlier comments; I've very much enjoyed reading this thread, and indeed I've been subscribed to it daily in order not to miss an update. Sad that it has come to an end! Thank you for sharing.

Can I just say that I use your atlas more than ANY OTHER, for the following reasons:
(a) works offline - i.e. is a PDF download
(b) covers south of Manchester - my area of interest (mainly)
(c) is a mix of current/former lines
Really, can't express how much I've used your PDF over the...
Yes. All travel takes place tomorrow.
I purchased some tickets tonight, based on the above suggestion:

3 -...
I've been trying to piece together whether the £36.20 SVR ticket between Woburn Sands and Leicester is valid via Birmingham International.
I have braved the routeing guide and determined:

- Leicester is a routeing point
- The...
I have a ANYTIME DAY TC from MKC to EUS (£43.90) for tomorrow.
I have since realised that, since I live near to Woburn Sands, it would be preferable walk to and start my journey there. The ANYTIME DAY TC from WOB to EUS via BLY is £51.40.
Two questions:
1. Can I buy an ANYTIME DAY R...
I believe it's caused by passengers pressing the emergency button in the toilets. Quite why it's so common on the 390s and not other trains is a mystery to me.
The first time I ever joined an online forum in late 2001 (maybe Digital Spy?), I didn't know what to use as a username. I sat at my desk and came up with Nickleics, combining my name and where I was living at the time (Mountsorrel, near Loughborough). It's been my username everywhere ever...
The SABRE forum (mentioned earlier) linked to a new article on CBRD, a road enthusiasts' website, that summarises what happened to the bridge, complete with a diagram, and explaining the reason for the north side of the bridge remaining standing without any central support.
