On 4 June, Lord Hendy gave a written answer indicating a probable start date of December 2026 for services between Oxford and Milton Keynes. The full text can be found here. To me, the published answer does not entirely make sense: below is what I think the DfT means.

There are no through trains Bristol<>Oxford, on any day of the week, in the published timetables from 17 May 2026.

Indeed. There would be step-free access between the Up and Down platforms, via the road bridge, but is is a very Long Way Round. If a companion was taking you to the station in a car, that companion could, of course, take the car to the other side.
