Cheers Guys, It was definitely BR Blue, I don't know if it was a ballast train, it looked like ballast wagons from the quick glimpse I got.
Will I get a chance to go and take some proper photos or will it be away by now as the line was open today?

I use Peco flexible track on my layout, it seems to stay very clean because I very rarely have to give it a go with the track rubber and is easy to shape to what you need, it just needs well held down to stop it launching a loco off the board! :)
Well, thanks for all the replies guys, much appreciated! I have decided on my layout and got my base board cut to size at the weekend, and last night was working on my control panel. I just need to get the rest of my track and get it all laid down, after the board has been strengthened though.
