If you don’t want to pay, try and checkin exactly 24 hours beforehand and you will be able to change your seat to an empty seat free of charge. If the seat you want is not available, do not check the box to collect your boarding pass, and you can keep going back to check if more seats have...
I believe XC’s control is based at their HQ in Cannon House which is just a serviced office building shared with other (non-railway) companies. I would therefore be surprised if it had the resilience that one would expect from a more conventional control centre [notwithstanding the fact there...
Because of a closure of the A1, l was on some minor roads near Grantham back in June at the end of the first heatwave this year and experienced this, with pieces of tarmac sticking to tyres and then falling off. The road was in a real bad state.

As per the TfL website the first Northbound train on Sundays leaves Bank at 07:26, arriving Kings Cross at 07:34.

Not quite sure when it’s a holiday but does the system not give you an option to either accept the new timings or look for an alternative flight?
To be fair, it’s normally quite good when you get a cancellation on a flight only booking in my experience, although this might just be the basic IT...
