Last Friday the 10:47 Bedford to Bletchley was delayed crossing the River Ouse bridge. It arrived at Bedford St Johns 42 mins late. Fast forward 40 mins and 10 station stops later and the train arrived at Bletchley only 24 mins late. If it can be done once, why not retime the services 18 minutes...

In a letter in the March edition of "Kempston Calling" someone from BootRouteE.co.uk states that "This makes Bedford Midland a prime target to become a freight marshalling yard, like Cricklewood". Scaremongering, with totally incorrect facts, at its best.

The following is showing up today on the BBC website. "Seven trains carrying crates of food for the hauliers have left London in the past 48 hours, with the Salvation Army distributing the items." Is this just a reporter getting things wrong it did it really happen? Merry Christmas to one and all.

Stewartby, on the Bedford to Bletchley line, was in 1935 named after Sir Halley Stewart, director of Forders brickworks and then the London Brick Company. As they were making a half a million bricks every year the station must be linked to thousands of buildings!
