    What was the most important line to be closed?

    Further to that, if they hadn't terminated the line at Buntingford during construction in the 1860's and had continued as originally planned to connect to the Great Northern at Royston, i feel that line would be here today, electrified and providing a useful diversionary route.

    Im also with Bronzeonion on his choice of traction. The much missed A stock of the Metropolitan line. These great trains are very much missed. Also ALL the slam door stock of the Southern region and all those great units of the Eastern region, class 302, 305, 307, 308, 309, 310 & 312 units...
