Apologies if already mentioned, but CityLink are offering discounted explorer passes through itison. See link: https://www.itison.com/Edinburgh/deals/citylink-3-5-or-8-day-explorer-pass
“Unlimited travel across Scotland with Scottish Citylink’s Explorer Pass. Choose from 200+ destinations with...
In an ideal world, you might have a system where you get compensation of, say, 15% for 15 mins late, then an extra 2% for every additional minute late (16 mins = 22%, 17 mins = 24% etc) up to the max 100%. You could do this in a revenue-neutral way (ie the new system costs the same as the...
I’ve bought e-tickets for a day return Glasgow to Edinburgh and for a suburban Glasgow station to Glasgow Central from Trainsplit without issue.
I’ve tried others and they aren’t sold as e-tickets for whatever reason.
Some ScotRail tickets can be sold as e-tickets (eg Edinburgh to Glasgow works fine). Others aren’t e-ticket enabled and you’ll only get them as ToD (pick up at a ticket machine with a code) from TrainSplit. Trial and error with the tickets you need is the only way to find out as far as I know. I...
If you like the old app interface, Northern’s app looks to be very similar. I don’t think it does splits unfortunately.
Not aware of any TrainLine-powered app that does their splits and no booking fee now?
Apologies if already covered (it’s a long thread) but why have they changed the system? The old one looks (and sounds) much better, the new one looks like some kind of open source clone of it that’s not quite right.
There’s more info, but it’s harder to read, nothing seems to be on the screen...
That's great - thanks very much.
Just as an FYI, the website generates a template email for the situation of refunding one leg of a journey, but the template email then doesn't mention this situation (refunding one leg), but does others (new ticket bought from other retailer and something else...
I’ve decided to change a journey today to one a bit earlier. Bought as a return journey made up of 2 Advances. I just want to change the outbound leg.
I’ve booked a new outbound ticket, but the form for refunding the original says that if I only want to refund one leg I need to email. But my...
The increase in a ‘TapTapCap’ day cap from £5 to £5.70 (14%!) is quite steep and surprising to see the difference between the cap and a paper day ticket reduce rather than increase over time (was 50p cheaper, now 30p cheaper).
For two adults to go into town and back will be £9.60 (or £11.40 if...
Can you not buy from Trainsplit or LNER and pick up from the airport? I believe there’s a TVM there, but do double check if that’s what you’re planning.
Was thinking specifically under the Megabus brand, was it a direct replacement for a Stagecoach Express branded service? But with anew brand and, of course, the ‘from £1’ fare structure.
Surprised there’s been no news coverage of the end of Megabus (at least that I’ve seen). It looks like the final services run tonight.
Does anyone happen to know when they started operating Glasgow - London services? Around 20 years ago I guess?
Sad to see the effective end of Megabus (as per my username!) presumably only really continuing to exist as a booking site for CityLink, Falcon and National Express. I don’t really understand the appeal of Flix over Mega for those overnight Scotland-London journeys, last time I took the coach...
Spotted in this morning's Edinburgh Minute newsletter that Ember are providing a coach service from Edinburgh city centre to the Lost Shore surf resort in Edinburgh. Bookings via Lost Shore rather than direct with Ember and NEC cards appear to not be valid (but a very fair price of £2.20...
How popular is it? From looking at the Ember booking site, the maximum available seats availability on that service is 53 (presumably the total capacity). The next few nights appear to have 51, 49 and 52 seats available, with all subsequent nights bar one this month with 53. I appreciate there...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
