    Brighton Belle Restoration Project

If it does ends up being scrapped maybe the cab could be donated to that place in South Wales?

    P38 Lightning flying near Brighton?

Thanks. Yes, I’d forgotten it was Goodwood last weekend. First time I’ve seen one, pretty impressive.

    P38 Lightning flying near Brighton?

I’m sure a just saw a P38 fly along the coast at Brighton (they’re pretty distinctive!). Does anyone know any details, a quick search doesn’t show any UK airworthy ones?

Brighton to Victoria off peak changes

Hi, The Brighton Argus is reporting a temporary suspension of through off peak trains from Brighton to London Victoria. Could this see a change to GTR ticket acceptance? https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/18207672.no-off-peak-brighton-victoria-trains---travellers-face-massive-price-hike/

    Brighton to Tamworth query.

Thanks for the advice. I need to be a bit flexible with departure times on the return so not using Advances. Will definitely look at going via Moor St in the future, even if just for a change of view!

    Brighton to Tamworth query.

I'm travelling from Brighton to Beverley on 23/12/18, returning 28/12/18. For a change, I'm thinking of going via Tamworth, splitting at Sheffield. There's a £48.20 off peak return from Brighton to Tamworth (Southern and West Midlands only) but National Rail only finds a sole 09:27 departure at...

    Gatwick Express Santa’s Grotto?

Sorry, it's Platform 8, the wooden one used mainly by east coastway services (replaced by buses today). I doubt it's moving anywhere soon as there's also a 313 and another unit seemingly stabled in the same platform.

    Gatwick Express Santa’s Grotto?

There’s a Gat-Ex 387 in platform 9 at Brighton with sheets/paper over the windows. As there’s an elf and a snowman on the platform I’m guessing it’s Xmas related... Anyone know what’s going on?

Why does Ireland have a different gauge?

Is there a reason the Irish system adopted a broader gauge? Ive heard it was simply an average of alternatives already in use.

    Day off ideas

Thanks for the suggestions. Like the idea of the circular trip via Lidlington, quite a bit of variety. Also looking at Kennet day ranger from Reading.

    Day off ideas

Good call. Looking at a split at Salisbury to somewhere nice but it takes for ever to get there! Gonna aim for the GWML if possible.
