All scrapped. All taken out by road to a scrap yard in Bishop Auckland more or less soon as there arrived, all gone within a week.
Parts from these wagons did reappear a few weeks later at Celsa in Sunderland, such as buffers, bogies and frames that then got loaded onto the DB service to Cardiff…….
Store until the New Year then an assessment to be completed when the wagons will either be disposed or reinstated, a light engine move will be required to move them once taken place. The wagons are in-fact at the Port of Sunderland not Ward Bros.
The coal trains are not running at the moment due to no product at Immingham. Trains are expected to be running again shortly.
Coal trains will continue until the blast furnaces close, the furnaces need a small amount of coal as part of the steel making process.

Edit - Photo of the service leaving...
That would be a surprise. 60063 was currently under going overhaul and has been inside Toton for near 2 years, that would of been first on the list to complete if the claims were true, surely?
The steel for AV Dawson’s is for Nissan and it comes from Margam, generally runs into Middlesbrough on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This week it’s ran today and it’s running tomorrow

I boarded the 12.36 train at Nunthorpe along with about 40 others, mostly going to the football. One thing I noted was the 5 or so passengers waiting at Gypsy Lane as we sailed passed…….
A coal train from Redcar has been running for the last few months, in fact it’s ran today and will depart this evening back to Tees Yard
