Merseyrail usually operates a limited service on Boxing Day. I have not seen any announcement on their website yet, but looking at realtraintimes a service is operating on Boxing Day.

The Kirkby line is back running at 4 trains per hour. It’s certainly low key reintroduction of the time table, I get the impression the guards have not been informed. Yesterday, there was a 15 minute service from Southport to Central, every 30 mins to Hunts Cross.

I notice on RTT that the 21:34 Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street is booked to depart from “2M”, also, the 21:36 to London departs from “4M”. What is the “M”?

Liverpool Central 12:46 is the first one, it will remain in service until about 20:00.
