Once HS2 phase 2b has opened, should dedicated double decker stock be built?

This increases capacity, not reduce it. The double deck bit is always between the bogies.

TGV double deckers are built to GB+. HS2 is GC: Platform height is not a problem for double decker trains. In fact, in a sense, it's better as you can position the doors above the bogies creating more space for seats on the lower deck.

Yes. No reason not to use maximum capacity trains especially when the infrastructure supports it.

    HS2 LOADING GAUGE

The infrastructure itself is the same gauge as HS1 - UIC GC which is the largest continental gauge permitting the largest double decker trains as long as they only stay on HS2. As far as I know HS2 will not have any British gauge platforms. Rather all trains will have extendable platforms. HS1...

    Class 93 Tri-mode Loco

I hate the yellow front in general but you made it look really good. Nice work.

    West Midlands train director sacked

The last few times I've used the Snow Hill lines, trains were late 5-10 minutes every time.

Why do Class 380s have tapered bodysides when other Desiros don't?

I've noticed the same thing. Their Verve train also lacks tapering.

The yellow front ruins it completely.

    Double decker trains

If we see double decker trains, it will be on the high speed lines as HS1 supports DD and so will HS2.

    Greengauge 21: Beyond HS2

A useful saving by constructing a section of a new highspeed railway to an outdated standard? What? Why even bother electrifying it then? Save more.

The yellow is useless. Anyone can see the bright lights and if they can't then they will definitely miss the yellow front. This isn't about colours at all but about triggering a defensive reaction from the brain. The light reflected from the yellow panel will reach the human's eye at the same...
