Just saw.. something.. pass by whilst waiting for my train.
Took me a while to work out what it was, despite a new livery it still looks quite old and tired. Looking at RTT it's heading from Bournemouth to Fratton.
I'm planning to cycle the South Downs Way soon, getting to the start and back from the finish by train, and have found the following so far:
A via Barnham ticket is, unsurprisingly, the cheapest way of doing this.
Southern has cycle restrictions on any train that departs from Brighton...
Are there any sites which can be persuaded to sell just the +bus ticket? I have a season ticket that enters a plusbus area already, so shouldn't need to buy an additional rail ticket.
Was wondering if this morning would get posted here...
The £15 specials have made this train quite noticeably busier, though all those kicked off were regulars and I presume they ended up on the "slow" train. Which from experience is often really properly busy till Brockenhurst and probably...
Ah... never realised that was it. I have noticed the 444's need a bit of a kick now and then, but now I think about it I've only ever had to do this on platform 2 @ Brockenhurst where there is a bit of a curve.

I...

Earlier today the maps on that site had a 2CAR sat in the bay, which isn't there anymore. Didn't see anything there this morning but I wasn't looking that way - too busy staring at my phone.
The actual level might be better elsewhere, but they are significantly easier to claim in the UK. Most of the rest of Europe is contributions based rather than needs based, so you need to reside there for a while first.
Southampton to Brighton not via London is £20.65 with the gold card.
Don't know how long the bus + train option would take, but I've done Piccadilly from Heathrow then change at Earls Court & West Brompton before and it took about an hour. It's all just one 2-6 tube fare so would both save the...
