And no problems on the return either :)

Boundary Zone 6 to Brighton on Gatwick Express?

We've just had a ticket check, and both the 60+ Oyster card and Freedom Pass were accepted without question. The conductor had made an announcement before commencing the ticket check, requesting all passes, railcards and Oysters.

Boundary Zone 6 to Brighton on Gatwick Express?

My partner is buying them on her smartphone as an e-ticket. Does the forum's one have an app that can be downloaded onto a smartphone? (I don't have a smartphone, so know nothing about this!)

Boundary Zone 6 to Brighton on Gatwick Express?

Thanks Watershed, I'd forgotten about those! 1743766450 Thanks, Yorkie. My partner will buy the tickets for both of us on Trainline (it'll be from Coulsdon South, as we understand that online retailers don't sell tickets from Boundary Zone 6), and will report back on the outcome. Thanks...

Boundary Zone 6 to Brighton on Gatwick Express?

So is the rule of thumb that Freedom Passes and Oyster 60+ are not valid (even with in conjunction with a Boundary Zone 6 ticket) on any operator whose trains do not stop within the London Zones? If so, GWR should no longer accept them, but I travelled this week to Reading on a Boundary Zone 6...

Boundary Zone 6 to Brighton on Gatwick Express?

So if I've understood correctly, both the 60+ Oyster and Freedom Pass are Zonal tickets, and are therefore valid on the Gatwick Express, but only in conjunction with a Boundary Zone 6 ticket?

Hello all, My partner and I are travelling from Victoria to Brighton on Friday 4th April, and returning on Saturday 5th. I see that all services (apart from a few late evening ones) are now operated by Gatwick Express. We each have a Disabled Persons Railcard, my partner has a Disabled...

Tickets bought tonight (12th) for wrong date

Hello all, I bought two Off-Peak Return tickets last night from Leagrave to Blackpool North route Any Permitted with a Disabled Persons Railcard at West Hampstead (TfL Overground) station, intending to travel outward on Monday 14th. Unfortunately, I forgot to select the change date option, and...

Is there a French equivalent of BRTimes or RealTime Trains?

Hello all, I'm planning to travel to France (Beaune) in May 2024. I've never travelled by train in Europe before, and would like to work out my journey without using a journey planner. Is there a French equivalent of BRTimes, or RealTime Trains? If not, how about PDFs of printed timetables...

Is my ticket valid on the London Underground

Yes: the cross London marker † is printed on your ticket, which indicates that it's valid on London Underground. Both Gatwick Airport and Cambridge are served by Thameslink, and there are through trains which don't involve changing at Farringdon or Liverpool Street. 1691527547 Just spotted the...

Sail Rail Luton to Gort: break of journey overnight?

Thanks. I was planning to buy the ticket at Luton (or Luton Airport Parkway) ticket office. It didn't occur to me that the ticket might not be available without an itinerary...

Sail Rail Luton to Gort: break of journey overnight?

I'm planning to travel between Luton and Gort, and see that it's impossible to complete the journey in one day in either direction, unless travelling through the night, and I really don't want to do that! I note that the ticket restriction does not allow break of journey, except for "connection...

    Milton Keynes–Manchester Airport—Std to 1st excess query

Thanks for the clarification: I hadn't realised that tickets cannot be excessed for just part of the journey.

    Milton Keynes–Manchester Airport—Std to 1st excess query

My brother and I shall be travelling between Milton Keynes Central and Manchester Airport, off-peak, outward on 8th November and returning on the 28th. My intention is to travel in a 1st class seat as cheaply as possible, using a Disabled Persons Railcard. The FSR is £155.35, and I'm...
