Think the OHL sub-sections cover quite a distance, so extending the posession and iso, may well have taken out Col Town.
NR and 3rd party trees are always troublesome ! think NR Anglia have been 'taken to Court' a few times regarding cutting down, or trying to cut down trees.
Bit like flying International, you have to be there 3 hours before, but many allow 4 hours+ Short haul/Domestic is 2 hours, so Id try to be there at least 3 hrs to allow for things like the M25 !
Forecast in old money 91F to 95F, as avgainst the normal highs of about 73F or so. Guess NR/TOC's will have to rethink maintainance and installations going forward in future years
Just been watching a video posted a few days ago, there was a traveller in Norway trying out their Inter City trains, on one route into Oslo, they had to use a 'Bus Bridge' (or RRB :-) ) as the track was buckled on the route, they were citiing excessive hot weather, the temperature was 77F...
It says: This failure automatically turned the signal behind it to red, that is incorrect, the signal would hae been red to start with, the track occupation would see to that.
But this is the D.E !
Saw a YT video a few months ago, guy did air and rail from a cafe in Edinburgh to the same cafe in Holborn London, the end result was air was 4 mins quicker, but the train was overall a bit cheaper, and far less stressful ! (Train up to London, Air down to Edinburgh)
He did add that had he not...
Indeed, a bus can be 30 mins late, and it's tough luck, airlines, 2 hours late tough luck, and also if it does meet the delay threshold, they will have a get out so they dont have to pay !
Scrapping 15 min D&R will not have any effect on delays, or on time trains
Not sure the PSB had taxi's, but a few took up the Hotel offer, even those quite 'local' but would have had issues, the result was no one called in to say cannot get to work, it was fully staffed.
