Indeed, a bus can be 30 mins late, and it's tough luck, airlines, 2 hours late tough luck, and also if it does meet the delay threshold, they will have a get out so they dont have to pay ! Scrapping 15 min D&R will not have any effect on delays, or on time trains

Not sure the PSB had taxi's, but a few took up the Hotel offer, even those quite 'local' but would have had issues, the result was no one called in to say cannot get to work, it was fully staffed.

I know when we had our last bout of severe snow in the Anglia region, a good few years ago, Signalling Staff, who lived a fair distnce away, from the PSB were offered overnight accomodation in a hotel close to the PSB so that they could get into work without issues. quite a few took up the offer.

Just looked at the Met Office, seems its gone (mid morning) from an Amber alert to a Yellow alert now, Amber north of Glasgow and Perth. Saturday is now Amber North of Inverness and Peterhead, the rest is just a yelloe warning.
